After the King of Sorrow passed away and sorrow was released back into the world of Lunatea, Tat, a black and white puppet-looking cat curiously explored a part of the throne  room that had been sectioned off by a screen.

"Leorina?" Tat called, in a tone that told her she really needed to see this. Sitting on the floor and leaning against a pillar, Leorina, the sky pirate glanced up as she was called. Slowly getting up, she placed a hand at her waist, wincing at her injuries she received earlier when Klonoa was forced to fight her after she became cursed by the power of sorrow. Quickly, almost stubbornly regaining her composure, Leorina started walking to where Tat had called her as if nothing even happened, Popka, the Priestess Lolo's flying dog companion, who had witnessed the whole thing, watched her as she disappeared from sight.

"Jeez, the woman's as stubborn as a mule," he spoke to himself, turning to see Klonoa and Lolo were talking privately while both were holding hands. "Urgh! Gross!" Popka grimaced at the sight, turning his back from them. "Get a room ya two!"

"What is it Tat?" Leorina questioned as she turned around the screen. "Is that... a cot?" , Leorina asks seeing Tat hovering over it. "Yeah and its in use," Tat replied rather coldly, not fond of being around babies or toddlers as they tend to pull her tail a lot.

"No wonder the King of Sorrow was so desperate to be set free. He must have been doing everything he could to save his child from this run-down place," Leorina spoke as she peered into the cot, seeing the King's son look up at her and smile. "Aren't you just adorable," Leorina spoke with a smile, gently lifting and placing him in the crook of her arm. "They're all cute at that age!," Tat responded sounding a bit jealous. "Be nice, Tat. Not all babies are the same."

"Yo! Tat! Leorina! Whadya two doing in there?" Popka questioned just before Leorina emerged with the King's son still in her arms. "Woah. Who's dat kid belong too?"

"Huh? Kid?" Klonoa, the Dream traveller, a black and white cat/rabbit looking creature asked, turning around seeing the baby. "Isn't he adorable, Klonoa?" Lolo asked him, holding his arm tightly. "Do you think we should take him to the High Priestess. I think that's what the King would have wanted." Lolo suggested. "You could go too Leorina. It's been years since she has seen you."

"Me? See the the High Priestess? I'm not going up there!" Leorina huffed, crossing her arms as she looked at Lolo. "Why not, Leorina?" Lolo asked her. "I'm sure she would like to see you after all these years. "No she wouldn't, Lolo. She would be disgraced and ashamed to know that I became a thief."

"She already knows ya dope!" Popka spoke abruptly. The Boss lady didn't seem ashamed to me when she told us you used to be a Priestess in-training just like Lolo."

"She isn't called the "Boss lady," you loud mouthed dog!" Leorina snapped at him. "It's High Priestess, got it?! And I don't care what any of you say!" Leorina spoke whilst pointing at everyone in the group. "I'm not going and no one is going to make me, so don't even bother!"

"Well... can you or Tat at least fly us to La-Lakoosha, please?" Lolo asked kindly. "Fine, but I'm not leaving the plane," Leorina huffed as she left, still cradling the King of Sorrow's son.

As Tat and the team took of towards to main land, a silhouetted figure discreetly peered out of a window, wiping a tear from their eye.

After a few days had past, the King's son had been adopted by the High Priestess and had been given the name of Lucas. Klonoa is now being shown the sites by Lolo and Popka as a tourist and Tat and Leorina had returned to Volk, but Leorina was soon heading back to Hyuponia, the Kingdom of Sorrow. Tat's birthday was coming up and Leorina needed cash to get her something or she'd be hearing about it for the rest of the year if she didn't get her anything.

Looking around, Leorina headed to the King's throne room, thinking there would be something worth her while in there to sell, but what she saw was the King of Sorrow, attempting to prop up a plank of wood against a wall that was close to collapse.

"You don't know anything about building do you?" Leorina spoke, crossing her arms as she observed him. Turning round the King saw her standing there. "What are you doing here?!!"

"I should be asking you the same question," Leorina spoke back to him.  "I asked you first," the King spoke looking at her with superiority. "Well...what do you think I'm doing? I am a sky pirate after all. I gotta make a living somehow."

"By stealing from me when you thought I was dead?!" the King asked, furious. "Why not?" Leorina simply stated. "I wouldn't necessarily call it stealing though. It's not like you're going to miss anything when you're dead are you? And... by the way," Leorina asked, holding her wind ring tightly in her hands. "Did you plan to fake your death from the start? If you did you could have had the decency to have given us your name first."

"What?" The King spoke getting a little nervous at Leorina's remark. "Your name. What is it?" Leorina asked bluntly. "You don't want to know," the King told her, getting agitated about it. "I wasn't asking. It was a demand. Now... what is it?" Leorina asked him again, raising her wind ring at him.

"It's... Tristan," the King sighed, looking away from her, turning back angrily when he heard her sniggering. "I told you wouldn't want to know!" the King snapped at her in response. "What are you doing here anyway?" Leorina asked, lightening up a bit. "This place will go any time. It's almost beyond repair."

"I'm not going over there just to be rejected! My people have been rejected before. My ancestors told me how the all the Kingdoms feared us and how they treated us!"

"It's not like that any more. Come with me. I'll show you," Leorina offered. "No chance, I'm staying here!" The King retaliated as he started walking away from her. "Not one more step," Leorina warned, aiming her wind ring at him. "You can't let fear run your life! Now you can either come quietly or I'll use a wind bullet on you and I'll drag you there!"

"I am a King! You can't threaten me like this!" The King demanded, angry at being spoken to like that. "I don't care," Leorina responded coolly, still aiming her ring at him. "You can call yourself a bounty hunter for all I care. So... what will it be?" Leorina spoke with a sly grin.

After Leorina had taken the King of Sorrow to the main land, he found the other Kingdoms had indeed changed and were not all like what he had been described by his old ancestors and he was happy that he was actually welcomed in the Kingdoms he visited. It was like the kingdoms weren't bothered about their differences any more. Some were even willing to help him rebuild his kingdom. One of them who was very happy to help was Leorina. Even though she couldn't do any psychical work just yet, her building skills and knowledge were appreciated a lot by him and after a few weeks of planning and organising they formed a understanding of each other and became good friends and when Leorina's injuries healed she would start on rebuilding.

"Happy Birthday Tat," Leorina said, while handing her a present. "Ooooh, you remembered," Tat spoke, getting excited as she opened it. "I wouldn't dare forget about your Birthday, Tat. And here's one from Tristan."

"Who?" Tat asked, not recognising the name. "The King of Sorrow, Tat"

"Ohhhhhhh. So you're on first name basis with the King are you?" Tat teased.

"Quiet, it's... not like that," Leorina stuttered, blushing a bit. "Oh, I'm surrrreee it's not," Tat teased some more. "You going back again today?"

"Yes. I need to fly more building supplies over. I'm going to do that later this morning."

"Is that the last of it, Leorina?" Tat asked as tied the last of wood to the wings of their plane, that was just outside the boundary walls of Volk. "Yep that's it," Leorina spoke, double checking her piece of paper.

"Are you, Leorina?" a voice asked. "Yeah, so?," Leorina answered, turning round but saw nobody. "Down here," the voice spoke. Looking down, Leorina forgot how short statured the turtle like Volkies were. "Yeah? What do you want? We're kinda busy."

"You're under arrest," the lone Volkan commander asked. "Huh? What for?" Tat questioned, looking down from the top of their Leorina's plane. "We have a receipt for this stuff if you think we stole it!"

"Not for that! For stealing from the Volkan army."

"Sorry, you're mistaken," Leorina answered, walking past him to board her plane. "Don't move or I'll be forced to stop you!"

"Oh yeah? You and what army?" Tat teased. "That army," the commander smirked evilly, pointing behind her. Looking back Leorina and Tat saw a dozen or more soldiers, all heavily armed and with a Volkan guard bot.

"Ah," Leorina spoke, more intimidated by the airborne tank than any of the soldiers. "Since when do guard bots leave the city's boundaries?" Tat questioned the army commander.

"Only when it's necessary, Now come with us quietly," the commander ordered, taking them inside the city walls.

"Oh, yeah. I remember that now." Tat thinking back after being reminded of the items they stole in the past once they were back within the city walls of Volk, the war city.

"You really shouldn't have concerned yourself. That was the biggest mistake we made. The stuff was worthless. It wasn't worth our time," Leorina smugly replied, crossing her arms, looking down at the short Volkan commander. "Worthless or not, you stole from us and we will not take that lightly" the commander shouted, pointing only at Leorina. "Oooh, are you going to arrest me too?" Tat queried excitedly.

"We don't arrests worthless pets!" the Commander sneered. Taking that remark as offensive, Leorina automatically grabbed the edge of the Commander's shell. "Don't you dare speak to her like that, turtle breath!!" Leorina snapped at him, hoisting the short creature to her face. The second their Commander was lifted up, most of the soldiers were quick to aim their guns at Leorina. Glancing out of the corner of her eye, Leorina panned across the whole group, thinking they were way too insecure to even be allowed to carry firearms.

"Drop him!" One soldier ordered. "Gladly" Leorina sneered as she let go of him in mid air, making the commander yelp as he fell to the ground. Rolling onto his back when he hit the floor, unable to get up, the sight of him rolling back and forth on his shell made Tat burst with laughter.

The second their Commander was safely away from Leorina every soldier aimed their guns at both her and Tat.

"Hey, we're not armed! You're not fighting fairly!" Tat protested. "Forget it, Tat. They're a just bunch of insecure wimps with firepower," Leorina said dryly, winching as she was roughly handcuffed.

"Hey take it easy you meanie!" Tat protested. "She's injured."

"Oh, is she? Did she get them after being caught stealing something?" the soldier who handcuffed Leorina asked, deliberately jabbing into her broken ribs, making Leorina cringe in pain.

"MEANIE!! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR DOING THAT TO HER!" Tat screeched slashing her claws at the abusive soldier, but didn't cause him injury as his shell protected him. "Why you little pest!!" he scowled raising his rifle up at her. "NO! Don't hurt her! I'll do anything you want." Leorina spoke urgently, allowing herself to be dragged away.

In an interrogation room the army told Leorina what they were planning to do to in the city.

"You? The city of Volk, attempting to stop the civil war? Oh, that's a laugh," Leorina muttered dryly as she was told what the army were planning to do. "Silence, pirate! At least we're trying!" a soldier snapped at her. "Both sides been fighting for generations. No one even remembers what they're fighting for and you expect me to try and stop it? It's futile!" Leorina argued back.

"Futile or not, you have no choice but to help us, Sky pirate," the commander ordered, glaring at her "And why should I help you at all?" Leorina spoke, smiling slyly. "The only other alternative is imprisonment."

"Imprisonment? For how long?" Leorina queried, thinking imprisonment would be better option than trying to end something that never would. "Until you agree to help us end the civil war."

"That's not really an option," Leorina thought. "Okay, fine!" Leorina agreed, feeling defeated, despising the thought for working for these wimps. "Can I at least recover from my injuries first?" Leorina asked thinking it was a reasonable request. "Give my one reason why we should?"

"How can I break up a fight if I can't even breath fully?"

"Hmm... all right," the commander, answered, thinking it was a good enough excuse, even coming from her. "You start the second you recovered, but just in case you try anything crafty you'll be wearing this," he said, handing over a device. "What is this?" Leorina queried, picking it up, admiring the complex and sophisticated circuitry it had inside it. "It's a monitor. We'll be using it to monitor your whereabouts. Break the seal or leave the city's boundaries we will be after you with our guard bots and you "WILL" be shot on sight."

"Wait... shot on sight?! Isn't that a bit drastic?" Leorina queried looking up. "We don't give second chances to criminals, got it?!" the commander snapped.

After the monitor was fitted on Leorina's wrist, she got up from her chair. Suddenly wincing in pain, Leorina clutched her rib cage and placed her other hand on the table for support. "How did you get those injuries anyway?" The commander asked out of curiosity.

"I'm not talking about it to the like of you," Leorina snapped as she barged past him, pushing him out of her way, not at all happy about these forced arrangements.

"This... is it?" Tat wondered looking up at the building which looked like it was at the point of collapse. "That's what it says here," Leorina answered double checking the address she had on the piece of paper she had been given. "And the army expects us to stay here?"

"Don't complain. At least we have a place to stay and they're giving us a small wage to live on" Leorina said as she made her way up the stairs. "It's made this deal a little better than I originally thought."

"Maybe resorting to a life of crime wasn't a good idea after all, Tat. I only really came here so I could recover from my injuries before I helped the King of Sorrow rebuild his kingdom," Leorina spoke to her as she laid down, looking across their new home that was little more than a dump. "If I didn't feel so guilty I would have gone to my old town." Leorina thought the last part, not realizing she had spoken it out loud.

"Your old town? You never mentioned that to me before," Tat asked curiously. "Just ignore what I said, Tat," Leorina spoke quickly, turning from her.

"Where is it?"

"Quiet, Tat! Stop mentioning it!" Leorina repeated, getting more and more agitated. "Can we go there? Is it in La-Lakoosha somewhere? After all you are La-Lakooshian," Tat bugged annoyingly.

"ENOUGH!" Leorina screamed as she lost her temper. "I don't want to talk about it, Tat and that's final!" Leorina yelled at her in anger as she got up. "And don't EVER mention it again!" Leorina snapped, storming out the front door and slamming it closed behind her.

As she made her way across the room, Tat slowly peered out of one of the windows, wondering where Leorina was going and saw her sitting on the top step with her head in her arms, noticing she was crying softly.

"What did she do to make herself feel so guilty?" Tat queried as she watched her. Thinking that she might have stepped way over the line this time she thought she should get some shopping for her and possibly make a few items "accidental" fall into her bag.

"Leorina, I got shopping and I got something for you," Tat said as she hopped through the open window after being gone a few hours. "Tat?" Leorina asked, looking at her the second she came home. "Look, I'm sorry for earlier. I shouldn't have lost my temper like that," Leorina spoke apologetically. "That's okay. I got something for you to make up for it,"

"Really? What?" Leorina asked as she got curious, giving Tat a deadpan look when she pulled a glass bottle out of a shopping bag. "Medicine."

"No." Leorina simply stated. "I don't trust doctors and I don't take any sort of medicine and you know that!" Leorina said, hopefully reminding her. "Well if you don't take it, I won't cook."

"No! You know how much of a failure I am when it comes to that. I'd probably burn the place down. You wouldn't dare!"

"You wanna try me?" Tat grinned mischievously, still holding the bottle. "I can still cook something for myself you know," she tauntingly teased. As Leorina looked at the medicine bottle is disgust then to the hob in the back corner, she turned a little green as she remembered the last time she had attempted to cook. "I don't want to be that ill again," Leorina shuddered at the thought. "Fine! Give it," Leorina sighed, holding out her hand "I hate it when you blackmail me."

"He he he" Tat laughed mischievously at getting Leorina to take medicine that easily, bounding off to start dinner. "Little pest," Leorina hissed under her breath, as she started to clean the place a bit before she had a rest.
